INKA TRAIL

Itinerary and Description of Services
Day 1: Cusco (3,350m // 10,990feet) – km82 - Wayllabamba (3,000m // 9,842feet)
Early morning bus departure from your hotel to Km82. Where we will begin our hike along the Urubamba River until reaching the first archaeological site Llaqtapata-Cusichaca, where we will enjoy a exquisit lunch. After that, we will climb to the village of Huayllabamba (3000 m // 9,842feet), where we will have our first campsite.- Number of hours of trekking: 6h
- Lodging: Overnight camping site.
Day 2: Wayllabamba (3,000m // 9,842feet) – Paqaymayo (3,600m // 11,811feet).
After breakfast we will climb to the first pass (Warmiwañusca 4200 m // 13,779feet), which is the highest point on the Inca Trail. It will take the whole morning, going through diverse ecological levels where we will observe the wide variety of orchids and bird species that inhabit this magical landscape.- From the summit of the pass, the second pass could be observed along with the Inca archaeological complex of Runcuracay and our campsite in the valley below where we will be arriving after approximately two hours. The campsite affords a beautiful view of the glaciers of the Verónica range (Cordillera Urubamba).

- Lodging: Overnight camping site.
Day 3: Paqaymayo - Wiñaywayna (2,650m // 8,694feet)
This day is the most varied of our adventure, beginning with the climb to the second pass of Runcuracay (3,900m // 12,795feet) from where the snow capped summits of the Cordillera Vilcabamba will be seen. This is followed by a two-hour descent that will tak us to the fascinating Inca archaeological complex of Sayacmarca. After exploring this spectacular site, we will continue along the original Inca Roadway; an we will see an amazing display of waterfalls, valleys, canyons, rivers and snow capped peaks like Salkantay, all of these viewed through the misty cloud forest- dazzle our eyes. Finally, we will reach the third Pass of Phuyupatamarca (3,600m // 11,811feet)- from where we will catch our first glimpse of Machupicchu Mountain. Getting to our l campsite in Wiñaywayna, considered as one of the most beautiful of Inca sites.- Number of hours of trekking: 6 hours
- Lodging: Overnight camping site.
Day 4: Wiñaywayna - Machupicchu (2,450m // 8,038feet) – Cusco
- After breakfast we will goodbye our porters and we will continue to Inti Punku or Sun Gate, where fans of flora and fauna will find much to appreciate. From Intipunku we have our best view of the lost city of the Incas: The legendary Machu Picchu (2400m // 8,038feet). We will enjoy a guided tour among the marvelous citadel. The rest of the morning is free for you to explore the site on our own.
- In the afternoon we will go down to Aguas Calientes town and we will return by train to Cusco.
- Train from Aguas Calientes to Cusco
- Transfer from the train station to your hotel.
- Number of visiting hours in Machu Picchu: 5h to 6h
