COLCA CANYON

2 DAYS / 1 NIGHTS (COL2)

The Colca canyon measures with a depth of more than 3,000 meters, thus ensuring its fame as the second deepest canyon in the world. It is a natural habitat for alpacas, llamas and condors and its environment presents excellent conditions for hiking, rock-climbing, parachuting and mountain biking. In addition, there are many Pre-Inca archeological sites along its path with tiny colonial churches, thermal springs and a marvelous landscape, all with the possibility of viewing the swooping condors that pass overhead. Its moderate climate and altitude make Colca canyon a perfect place for getting a good acclimatization before continuing the journey to Cuzco or Puno.

Itinerary and Description of Services

Day 1: Arequipa - Colca

• Excursion on private bus to the Colca Canyon. In our way, we will go to the Alto Sumbay and we will take a delicious coca tea.
• During the trajectory, we will stop, to give you some time to appreciate the volcanoes of the region like the Chachani, Sabancaya, Ampato and Hualca – Hualca.
• An easy and effortless hike from Canacota to the baths at La Calera.
• Possibility of bathing in the hot springs at La Calera.
• Overnight in Chivay, Colca Valley.

Day 2: Colca -Arequipa

• We will visit  the Mirador de la Cruz del Condor (The Condor Cross Overlook), and we´ll have the possibility to observe the majestic Condor, king of the Colca Canyon and the fantastical terraces designed by nature and the hand of man.
• We will stop by to visit villages and features of natural and archaeological beauty.
• In the afternoon, we will return to the city of Arequipa.
